7 in International Morse code is −−···: 3 short and 2 long. Every number in Morse code is five signals long. In cut numbers, the short form operators use when numbers are expected, runs of dashes are cut to one.

Easy to confuse with: 2 (··−−−, dots and dashes swapped), 3 (···−−, the same signals in reverse).

7 in cut numbers

When both sides know numbers are expected, operators shorten 7 to −···, the same signal as the letter B. Only the runs of dashes are cut; the dots stay.

In American (railroad) Morse code, 7 is sent as −−··, not −−··· as in International Morse.
